About the Space

 Set within the old byre buildings that inspired its name, Old Byre Fitness sits just a few steps from your accommodation, offering a warm, welcoming environment for both gentle movement and focused training. With its blend of wood, brick, soft lighting, and open space, the gym feels more like a private studio than a traditional fitness room. It’s a place to reset, recharge, and enjoy a moment to yourself.

Running Machine

Smooth, quiet, ideal for warm‑ups or longer sessions.

Bike

Low‑impact cardio with adjustable resistance.

Cable Machine

Controlled, full‑body strength training.

Smith Machine

Guided barbell work for safe, stable lifting.

Dumbbells & Barbells
For simple, effective strength sessions.
Kettlebell
Dynamic training for power and conditioning.

The space also includes mirrors, mats, steps, and a clean, open layout for stretching or floor work.

  • Guests staying at Shepshed Fields
  • Ourselves
  • Adults aged 17+
Whether you’re maintaining a routine or simply want to move after a day exploring the countryside, the gym is here to support your stay.
Opening Hours
7am – 8pm daily
If you’d prefer exclusive use at any time, just let us know — we’ll always do our best to accommodate.
Shared‑Use Courtesy
To keep the space calm and enjoyable for everyone:
  • Use clean, dry trainers suitable for indoor exercise
  • Wipe down equipment after use
  • Return everything to its place
  • Keep sessions considerate if someone is waiting
A little care goes a long way in keeping the gym feeling fresh and welcoming.
Safety & Wellbeing
Old Byre Fitness is designed for competent, confident use. We ask all guests to:
  • Exercise only if you feel well and capable
  • Avoid the gym under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs
  • Pause immediately if anything feels unsafe and let us know
  • Use the equipment with familiarity,  we’re always happy to offer guidance beforehand
